ProCEEd Team Completed  | Six additional staff members joined the project in 2015. A new international advisor filled a position vacant since the end of 2014. Two German development advisors and their local assistants support ProCEEd in cooperation with the Provincial Offices of Natural Resources and Environment in Khammouane and Houaphan. Winners of 2015 Environmental Photo Competition Announced 
| On 30 Nov 2015, the winners of the 2015 Environmental Photo Competition were honoured with an official ceremony at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) in Vientiane. Raising Awareness about Garbage Prevention at That Luang Festival 2015  | From 20-25 Nov 2015, members of the Mobile Conservation Unit (MCU) of the National University of Laos and staff of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment raised the awareness of visitors of the That Luang Festival about garbage prevention and proper waste disposal. Light boxes presented ideas to reduce, recycle and reuse waste through the separation of household waste into wet and dry fractions. More... |

Showcase of Good Practices in Waste Management during Wat Chan Boat Racing Festival 2015  | Hundreds of people at the Wat Chan Boat Racing Festival in Vientiane at the end of October experienced the ‘Garbage Monster Experience’, an educational booth ProCEEd developed in close cooperation with MCU of the National University of Laos. New Theatre Play on Biodiversity 
| As a follow-up of preparing for a new cycle of ProCEEd's Environmental Tour 2015, the teams running the bus tours needed a new theatre play related to biodiversity, one of the project's and upcoming tours' major themes. To this effect, 27 young volunteers from DEQP and PADETC engaged in a four-day intensive training on 8-11 Sept, 2015. Taking Stock and Planning Ahead - Environmental Tours from 2013 to 2017  | More than 20 volunteers from DEQP and PADETC took stock of their achievements and the methods they used during environmental tours to Khammouane, Huaphan and Sayaboury organized by ProCEEd between 2013 to 2015. This inventory of methods and media provided a stable basis for the volunteers and ProCEEd staff who participated in the workshop in Vientiane on 24-28 Aug, 2015 to plan ahead for the 2015-2017 period as well. Building a New Team for ProCEEd in 2015-2017 
| As a result of the project's extension until 2017, three additional staff members joined the GIZ team of ProCEEd in summer 2015. During a workshop in Vang Vieng from 17-19 Aug, 2015 the newcomers and the projects 'old hands' had a chance to learn to know each other in a relaxed learning environment. For a day, DEQP staff joined their German colleagues to create a new team spirit and confidence regarding the challenges ahead. More... |

New Topic, New Team, New Province - Bus Tour on Waste Management in Bolikhamxai 
| On 20-31 July, 2015 ProCEEd's environmental truck and bus toured 20 villages and reached almost 2,500 students in the Thapabath, Paksan and Pakkading districts of Bolikhamsai Province, which so far had not been reached by the project's Environmental Tour. This tour also communicated a new topic, namely solid waste management, and was implemented by a team newly composed from volunteers of NUOL's MCU and DEQP. More... |

Show Time for Co-Management and Forest Conservation in Laos 
| During a workshop in Vientiane from 29 June to 3 July, 2015, Lao National Theater instructors trained ten DEQP and PADETC staff and volunteers on theater skills. Using DEQP technical input, PADETC field experience and LNT theater skills, a new theater play about forest protection was created. The 20-minute theater play tells the story of a conflict about the use of timber from a national protected area to repair a village school. More... |

Sayaboury Villagers Learn about Participatory Forest Management and Wildlife Conservation 
| Young and old in 17 villages in Sayaboury Province enjoyed ProCEEd's environmental education tour in the first two weeks of June 2015. The tour team used games, music, and a theater play to engage the villagers. More than 6,500 people learned about the importance of wildlife conservation and forest protection through ProCEEd's non-formal education program. This was the second time since 2013. More... |

Developing Writing Skills of DEQP Staff  | ProCEEd invited DEQP personnel to a one-day writeshop at Vientiane Plaza Hotel on 6-7 April, 2015. The project’s trainer introduced the 5Ws and the 3Cs as the fundamental principles of journalistic writing. Participants practiced their skills when everyone wrote an article in Lao language. Preparation for Environmental Bus Tours 2015 
| On 25-27 March, 2015, ProCEEd held a workshop in Vientiane to prepare DEQP and PADETC for the 2015 environmental bus tours to Khammouane, Huaphan and Sayaboury. DEQP staff takes over the so-called government tours while PADETC volunteers run the village tours.
